Gas Explosion Collapsed homes in Philadelphia, 8 people sent to Hospital

On Monday an loud explosion rocked the neighborhood streets of Philadelphia. The explosion crumbled houses and set an local baby on fire that was thrown out the window for safety and caught by fireman.One person died and 25 people had been evacuated from the south Philadelphia area. The authorities are investigating what caused the explosion. An explosion in a gas main in northeast Philadelphia spawned a three-alarm fire that left one person dead and five injured and prompted evacuation of several dozen residents. Jim Capoli, 61 told the news reporter “Oh man! It just blew up the whole street,” He described how the fireball rose 50 feet into the air, shook houses in the neighborhood and knocked over a man standing next to him.
