Ex Rikers Prison Guard Gets 30 Years For Kicking Sick Inmate To Death

Back in 2012, ex Rikers Island Prison Guard, Brian Coll kicked a then sick 52-year old Ronald Spear to death. Spear was brutally kicked in the head by Coll as other guards restrained him, but couldn’t stop to brutal attack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

48 year old Coll was convicted in 2016 for infringing upon Spear’s civil rights. On Wednesday, federal Manhattan judge Loretta Preska sentenced him, Coll will spend his next 30 years behind the very type of walls he once walked as a free man. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Spear allegedly told Coll , “Suck my d**k”. Coll then responded by saying he should kick the Inmate to death. According to a guard who was present at the time of the brutal incident , Coll told Spears, “This is what you get for fucking with me. Remember I did this.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As a result of the brutal and fatal attack, Spears who was already suffering from heart and kidney disease as well as diabetes suffered hemorrhaging on the brain and a heart attack.
