10 Black American Idol Contestants Sue Show for $25M

10 American Idol Contestant sue Popular talent search series for releasing the arrest records the plaintiffs as listed: Corey Clark, Jaered Andrews, Jacob John Smalley, Donnie Williams, Terrell Brittenum, Derrell Brittenum, Thomas Daniels, Akron Watson, Ju’Not Joyner, and Chris Golightly. During introductory videos, the suit claims, the contestants were made out to be violent criminals, liars and sexual deviants, when in fact none of them had ever been convicted of committing the crimes for which they had been arrested. The lawsuit also claims that no Caucasian contestant was ever questioned about a prior arrest. They further claim that their lives and careers were harmed by the exposure of their arrest records on national television. Due to the public humiliation they are seeking 25 million dollars.
